You would think receding was just about DHT. It is, but it isn't. Receding is also about how the scalp, over time, become calcified over time due to inactivity, and the shutting down of "tribes" of hairs in the same vicinity as well.
While calcification is like gritty kidney stones in the form of powder or sand that layer the scalp, fibrosis is the epidermis turning from a supple follicle having fatty and flexible organ, to a dense, rigid and "still water" like. As fibrosis moves backwards, it acts as a blanket or a permanent closure to the once hair producing follicles.
One of the main reversal tasks you have in front of you is to remove the calcification and almost knead out the fibrosis. This will open up the pores once again to began the process of villus-to-terminal transition. Fibrosis is the effect of the scalp being shut down, but then it acts as a cause/solidifier of the scalp, if that makes sense. So reversing fibrosis, reverses further hair loss and begins the process of regeneration or reinitialization of follicles.
