Normally the term "Alpha" is met with respect. It means the top guy, the pinnacle, and commands respect and admiration. In hair loss, this is quite the opposite.
I coined this term, because DHT seems to be the macho masculine hormone. However, the more you have of it, the more than likely, you will encounter hair loss. Thus, an Alpha scalp is the epitome of a DHT led one. It can also be called "Prostate" dominated.
The irony of the prostate name is, the most effective hair loss treatments topically and to be consumed were once prostate meds. Yes Finasteride and Dutasteride are meds for your testes. So, we take hair loss meds that also suppress or prostate growth. This furthers the term "Alpha". In short, the conditions of an Alpha scalp are brought on by Androgens such as DHT in order to deal with a wider more internal organ problem manifesting in the scalp. How do we go about turning an Alpha scalp to its opposing scalp- Omega? By feminization and the suppressing of androgen activity.
