The follicle seems to be weak and prone to breakage, but that's hair. Not the follicle. Remember it takes years for your tough follicles to decline from male pattern balding.
This is not an overnight thing. The follicle fights for years before it succumbs to any form of androgenetic alopecia.
Certain alopecia's hit hard and fast and leave very little room for the follicle and skin to fight. This hair loss is quick and nasty. The flip side is, those are turned around pretty quickly as its more or less a knock out of the follicle verses a coma. Male pattern balding, is slow and chronic and by the time the follicle is asleep, it has been an arduous journey and battle.
You can reverse this easily as the follicle is generally fit. It just needs a bit of help.
